What are the Advantages of Floods?

Recent floods of 2010 cause devastation in Pakistan. Although floods always destroy human life and property but there are some positive effects of floods. Flood water helps in the growth of jungles and other natural vegetation. Floods not only raise the underground water table but also cause fertile soil to spread in all directions. There are some other positive impacts of floods i.e. environmental balance, river delta, storage of water etc. Hence we can say that although floods brought destruction but we can get many benefits from them with proper planning and management.
