Khana Kaba | History Of Khana Kaaba

Khana Kaba is a most sacred place on the earth for the Muslims. It is situated in center of the Masjid Al Haram in MAKKAH Saudi Arabia. It is a cubical building, which has a great mosque built around it. By the teachings of Islam, the Kaba is a direction given to the Muslims to face it whenever they say prayers. It was first made by Hazrat Ibrahim and his son Hazrat Ismail and was a triangular construction without roof. It had two doors in opposite sides, which were at the ground level and were open for people to pass through them. Stones from five mountains were used in its construction. The stones in its base are still the same that Hazrat Ibrahim had situated. Kaba was kept like that until year 604. Then people of the Quraish changed it to prevent the donations (pilgrims used to put in it) from the thieves. They left the north side out and built the Kaba in cubical shape. That open space is called Hateem and was left out due to less income resources of the Muslims of that time. They also gave it a roof to be protected from upside and closed the western door as well. While on the other hand, they lifted the eastern door up to 2 meters higher than the ground level, so that no one could enter the Kaba without permission from the leader of the “MAKKAH”. There are three pillars and two roofs in the Kaba. The inside of Kaba has been built by marble stones. The “Black Stone” (stone from the heavens sent by the angels to Hazrat Ibrahim) is situated in the eastern corner of the Kaba and was placed by Hazrat Mohammad (PBUH). This building is 14 meters of height and is covered by black silk curtains, which have Quranic text embroidered on them with gold and silver.
